'Defaced Flag' Is Finalist In DNC Health Care Contest
Using Children to Pass Health Care Reform?
One of the 20 finalists in health care video contest run by Barack Obama’s campaign arm features a mural of an America flag splattered with health care graffiti until it’s covered completely by black paint.
In the video – which is accompanied by the sound of a heart monitor pumping and then flat-lining – words such as “pre-existing conditions,” “homeless” and “death panel” ultimately obliterate the flag, which reappears on screen seconds later with the words “Health Will Bring Our Country Back to Life” on the blue field where the 50 stars usually are.
According to the Organizing for American Web site, the 20 finalists in the “Health Reform Video Challenge” were chosen by a panel of “qualified” Democratic National Committee “employee judges.” Read more ...

Once the public "option" puts private insurers out of business, we will have no option. Government will control medical care and costs. Once you accept medical services from the government, they will have their hooks in you. To recoup costs for your medical care, they will go after your assets, including your home. All part of a plan to destroy private property rights and redistribute the wealth.

My reply: The problem is that most liberals want govt. assistance for everything. The system has incapacitated you and has made you dependant. It's Ok to give a helping hand when someone is down, but you'd rather "stay down" all the time and not do for yourself. You'd rather lose your freedoms in exchange for health care, you'd rather leave your grandchildren with a huge deficit than speak up and say NO, I will do without , but my kids will have better.

First as an American, second as a veteran, and third as a historian I find this type of disrespect for our flag insulting. I find it insulting when Glenn Beck disgraced the flag on his show throwing stars to the ground and putting up corporation logos in there place, and I even found it wrong when President Bush signed his autograph on an American flag and when John Kerry and friends ran through the streets with Old Glory upside down. As wrong as I think it is, I also remember that in this great country of ours we have FREEDOM OF SPEECH. If you think people should be put in jail for this then you do not believe in the CONSTITUTION. (If you are against desecration of the flag then you should be against all of the above examples as well.) "Fair and Balanced" in practice.

Your piety isn' t convincing after yesterday's disturbing performance Mindy Mao when you stunk up these boards with repeated insults and malice..page after page after page after page of it. So spare us all your forced piety now. Your shortfall throughout all this Mindy Mao is that you endorse the democrats' bills (whether they contain a government option or not). They're smoke and mirrors. Deficit neutral? Well HR3200 wasn't but the democrats said it was. Baucus' bill relies on taxation now for "reforms" coming in for 2015...more smoke and mirrors to hide the real cost. Pelosi's chicanery relies on a seperate reimbursement proposal placed on another bill while she "cleverly" removes that cost from her current magic act of a bill to demonstrate it's "deficit neutral". So what use is your "reform" (whatever may appear) when the country will be crippled with debt and taxes? What's the next step? Rationed health care..and guess who already is the biggest denier of health care in the country? If you answered Medicare you're correct. So your "reforms" come with a huge burden and lot of "three card monty" by the democrats so that we can't really see what it will all cost and what will be rationed. We already have an idea though..500 billion will be cut from Medicare (which already leads in denying care)...and you expect better service with a 500 billion dollar cut Mindy Mao? I expect more denials. Is that the reform you wanted because that's what you're getting.

My Daughter is a psychologists, substance abuse counselor, in a Govt. office. The addicts that are admitted get everythng paid for, lot of assistance afterwards for job placement, half way houses, you know, the typical enabling type of things the govt. does, these people usually return, know how to work the system. I guess my Daughter should be grateful since she is guaranteed employment because of it. There's never enough free for libs.

Tel, you throw around the word "benchmarks" as if 1) I said it, which I didn't, and 2) it is some type of freaky, dirty word. If, to you, it is a "benchmark" to say that health care reform should actually work, then yes, I would say, we need to reach that benchmark. Reform needs to be successful. If reform is not successful, then we need to find another way to fix healhtcare. It blows my mind that you seem to disagree, that you think that if the governemnt creates reform, and they fail, then they shouldn't go ahead and rethink that reform. I simply don't understand how any rational person can make that argument. I could not be any more consistent than what I have stated to you, over and over and over and over and over and over again. You are the one who is completely intolerant of a differing opinion here, not me. You are the one namecalling, not me. You are the one full of baseless accusations, not me.

So Mindy Mao.....You're not for the trigger option which would put in place national health if certain benchmarks in the future aren't met. But you're for "re-examining" national health if certain benchmarks in the future aren't met. Apparently it will stink less in the future? And after it's "re-examined" you'll either put it in place and say "well...we had no choice and the party has wanted it for decades"..or you'll say yet again "having re-examined national health and seeing that the benchmarks stipulated were not met, but having still found resistance to it, we can re-examine again it if certain benchmarks aren't met in the future". As Einstein put it..."doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is insane". You don't have a fan in Einstein Mindy Mao and the laughability of seeing your name next to Einstein's hasn't eluded me either.

We have SCHIP for crying out loud --- it provides health care for "children" up to age 19 or 21 depending on which state you live in - it provides health care for higher low income levels than it previously did. If people do not look into it what are we suppose to do?
