How about sending all of our used CFC bulbs to Gore to dispose of? I was going to send mine to the EPA because I can't afford a hazmat team in case one happens to break, but if Gore likes them so much, he can have mine. I've had some in my house for about 3 years, and they are burning out already.

Two of my CFLs just burned out (after about 18 months of use), while the two regular bulbs I put in at the same time are still burning. So they do NOT last longer. Tell me again why I should use these things???

I agree. The reliability of these CFLs is spotty. They seem to quit well below 500 hours of use. Then I feel guilty for disgarding due to the toxic materials they are made of.
