Mr. Gore and the "global warming" crowd showed how dishonest and deceptive they are when they were confronted with facts (as Ms. Couric referenced) showing the lack of solid scientific and statistical evidence for global warming; they changed to using the term, "climate change". They apparently have another agenda in continuing to push for cap and trade legislation and other initiatives that will threaten our economy and national security. When will the media stop giving them such play?

You must remember one very important thing about the Al Gore types and his handlers, FOLLOW THE MONEY AND YOU WILL SMELL THE STINK ALL THE WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE.. Gore is getting heavier from the cash and balance sheet of his gained from climate change. He is one of the largest violators of contributing to a carbon footprint, eating meat, and does so in a non-repenting, in your face, way. Cap and Trade must be defeated on its own right for what it would do to increase unemployment, costs to individuals, and adding to our deficit. But by defeating it, we will also keep Gore from filling his pockets more and the large Wall Street traders from making billions from carbon offset trading.

Try telling that to a liberal. Now that Gore has said it, the rest of the democrat party will say the same thing, the media will report it and it will become fact to a liberal. Of course, with the distortion of truth that the liberals have about civil rights, it will be impossible to show them that their view of reality is simply gossip and myth, repeated often by ignorant, highly educated people.

Not only did Luntz write and distribute this memo (not "book") to leading Republicans, Lexis/Nexis searches show that Bush and many other conservatives stopped saying "global warming" and started saying "climate change" soon afterward. Actually Global Warming should be compared to the whole Y2K thing. A bunch of yammering to induce panic in reasonable people with no basis in fact in order to scam money from them. As it happens, I was one of the programmers who spent untold hours fixing Y2K bugs before they could cause problems. I assure you, it was no scam. Y2K was not a problem bvecause we paid attention to the warnings and did something about it. So, this is a really, really bad argument for doing nothing.

No, it isn't "a fact", even if you capitalize it. Plants do just fine on the amount of CO2 that's naturally in the atmosphere. Most plants aren't able to use any more than they already get. A few do, but some also suffer from too much CO2.
