Obama Golfs While Afghanistan Burns
KABUL — Bomb attacks and a firefight killed four U.S. troops in 24 hours in Afghanistan, the military said Monday, adding to the growing toll as NATO and the U.S. consider whether to send more forces to the war.
Three of the Americans died in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, NATO said in a statement. Two of them were killed in a bomb attack and the third in a separate firefight.
The statement said a bomb killed the fourth American in the east Monday.

Having lived the military-wife-life for more than 30 years, early on I became aware of Obama's disdain for the US military and his plans for instituting a "Civilian Corps".He must have absolutely no idea of how "at the ready" the troops are & have been waiting for reinforcements as requested in August. At this late date of compliance, they must be worn thin & have morale problems & what about all the families at home waiting & hoping & praying for their loved ones ? Cruel & unusual punishment being meted out. Terrorism trumps.

You're generalizing the GOP with the far right. As far as the war is concerned, conservatives want the troops to get the equipment, manpower, and moral support they deserve from the population and from the government. Domestically, they seek fiscal responsibility, smaller government, and maximum freedom.
Now on to the subject. I'd like to think that General McChrystal is a consumate professional...trained and educated to be in the position he is in. So why would this handpicked General give recommendations that don't make any sense? I'd argue that they do. But behind the scenes the goal is either vastly different from the public one, or...the President doesn't know what to do. So who is advising him on these matters? McChrystal? You'd think right because that's his job. But no. He's getting it from politicians...and if you have a son or daughter over there in harms way, you'd want the right decision made. But c'mon! Our children are in danger. Bring them back home now or let's get it done and do it right!
