43 Troops Have Died Since McChrystal Asked Obama for Reinforcements
Another American died in Afghanistan on Wednesday, the final day of September--and exactly one month after the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan sent a confidential war assessment to the Obama administration, warning that more forces are needed--soon.
The as-yet-unnamed American serviceman who died on Wednesday was caught in a suicide attack in Khost Province, in eastern Afghanistan, press reports said.
On August 30, Gen. Stanley McChrystal sent Defense Secretary Robert Gates a war assessment in which he said more U.S. troops--and a new U.S. strategy--are needed if the U.S. is to defeat the insurgents in Afghanistan.

Ravished By The Sheer Implausibility Of That Last Statement
Doesn't matter what the Allied Forces do in Afghanistan, they have lost the trust of the population and will suffer the same ignoble fate as the Soviet and British occupiers who preceded them. More troops will just create even more civillian deaths and a target rich environment for the insurgents.

Obama cares NOTHING about the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and is clueless when it comes to any military protocol! He will carry the blood of our soldiers and the tears of their families for his lack of responsibility and judgment! I doubt that you have ever had to leave your family behind or been around soldiers dying in combat, or you wouldn't blow off such a sacrifice so disrespectfully. I had family in Iraq, I have family in Afghanistan, I've known many and lived with patriots. I've also known and worked with some who are not patriots. Barack Hussein Obama, Michelle Obama, and their cronies are not patriots. They are self serving ideologues and they have the reins of this still great country in their selfish and perverted hands. This is a war and troops die, but they should take first place in the presidents vision . there will be 5 meetings before BO decides what he wants to do. He's weighing the options and getting input from all sorts of advisers.
It was snap decisions with little or no evidence that got us into many of our quagmires in our history. I am quite happy that he is giving this matter serious thought. That is what grown ups do.
