Obama is the anti-christ he will create crisis so that he can fix it all , claim victory and take us all to hell. He is the scum of all things bad, he transfixed all the mindless lemmings into voting for him. He should be removed from office immediately before he brings forth the end times.
Norte Dame is falling under the charm of the dark one this is the obamanation that is our pres, sum that he is.

I am not Catholic, but I fully support the opposition waged against BO receiving an honorary degree at ND and being allowed to speak at graduation.
BO should step down, citing the "need" to return to Europe, as I am sure they would welcome him with open arms!!!!!!!! After all, Americans are arrogant. . .

I'm not Catholic, but as a bystander, I support the cause of those who protest the honoring of BO in this context! BO should step down and go back to Europe to "enlighten" the world. He is just so IMPRESSIVE, isn't he?

i am not catholic but i feel to invite the most murderous [by abortion] pres. to speak at an institution that believes in life at the moment of conceptionis ridiculous and hypocritical.it's my hope and prayer that all graduates of notre dame boycott the graduation and or the pope speaks up and says that obama is not welcome at the notre dame university.

Live moves in funny ways. I say this because I had been a practicing Lapsed Catholic for the past 23 years. Sure I did the church thing, but my morals and ethics slipped away. I can't blame anyone thing, the Liberal media, the liberal Congress and any number of other inputs, but I can surely blame myself for letting all these distractions into my life. I have four children, two grown and estranged and two at home with me. I lost my older children because I lost faith in my God and my Catholic Beliefs. Last year at this time I felt compelled to find a school for my daughters because the public school system was not educating them and the lack of morals, ethics and social problems showed me where my lifes journey had taken me, I did not like what I saw. So my wife and I made the decision to place our girls in a Catholic school, the best decision other than marrying my wife I have ever made.
I bring this up because the debate over President Obama is going to give a Commencement Speech at Notre Dame seems such a small battle in life. I fully understand his ideology and his Rightg to Choice is conter to the ideology of Right to Life, yet this man is our elected President. Notre Dame's President issued an invitation, just as he and his predecessor has done to every sitting President and it was accepted. You may write and sign your petitions, you may protest, but please show something todays youth have forgotten. We as American Catholics have the background and right to tell Mr. Obama that we do not back his ideologies, however do so with style and class. Do not become the Liberals/Leftists we saw shouting and attacking President Bush. Protest of course, but protest outside the venue. Protest, protest and protest, but show the values that Catholicism stands for. The Love of Jesus Christ and Holy Mother Mary.

I live in a very liberal section of this country where Catholic bashing is a common bonding experience between professors and dim witted students.
If you attend a Catholic Mass around here, you will notice that most of the American born Catholics don't sing or barely sing. They have been silenced throughout their lives by anti-Catholicism blaring at them in schools, in the media, and in politics. If, however, you attend an ethnic Catholic Mass (in another language where most people were born outside of our country) you see people singing loudly and with such pride.
It is amazing what all the "open minded," "tolerant" people of this world have done to our faith.
What liberals usually mean by a dialogue is for you to dispose of all your beliefs and agree with them. I have never seen a liberal leave their convictions at the door.

MysweetAmerica: Where in the world, er the U.S., do you live? I have been to Catholic Masses in the northeast and the south and have not experienced any such differences. The singing levels are the same as I remember from attending Mass as a child. People still walk the streets and show up at work on Ash Wednesday with ashes on their foreheads where I live.
Where is this place of persecution that you live?

1 comment in a nation of 300 million. That's not very many. Apparently most Americans couldn't care less about your comment.... Just one lonely voice attempting to make an issue.... I do feel sorry for you.

Not many in 300 million, hmmm. How many marched at Selma? How many black women sat at the back of the bus, one I believe. It doesn't take millions, it takes one person or a thousand people stating their beliefs. As long as those who are the silent majority stay silent there will be no change. I agree with MHAMMER, it needs to be done in a Christian manner, no need for name calling. But the First Amendment gives every person the right to protest. Morality gives everyone who dissents the obligation to protest.

I agree with American Infidel and My Sweet America. We have text books that say the Rosenbergs were innocent, that many of the facts of our history are wrong. And I sing with gusto on Sunday. It is as much of a prayer as when I speak to God. Our University's are indoctrinationg our children. But fear not. In the 60's a nephew of a dear friend tried to convince me that SNICK and The Weatherman were positive organizations. Now he is a staunch conservative. It is amazing when we are young we are liberal, when we need to marry and raise children we become conservative.

Only if you espouse the liberal standard. Try going to any Liberal University and talk about Conservatism. You are heckled, booed and have things thrown at you or are threatened with bodily harm.
Universities should be the bastion for openess and the breeding ground for ideas. Anymore it it frowned upon and poo pooed. BTW....ND is a private college so it CAN withdraw its' invite if it deems it was sent in error!
Canuck huh? You would have voted for Obeyme , ay?

No one is pretending to believe that the people who are protesting the appearence of the president are any more perfect than a person who, for example, touts global warming but owns a private jet. What they are saying is that this president is so adversarial to most of the core principles of the Catholic church that to have him appear would be in direct opposition to those principles. The reason for the uproar is not so much a different opinion being brought to the campus, but a official recognition of a person and a condoning of someone who stands for those beliefs. Notice that Obama has said nothing of this, nor has he commented on the problem. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
