AP Spin: GOP Victory Tuesday Won’t Erase Party’s Problems

For Republicans, an election win of any size Tuesday would be a blessing. But victories in Virginia, New Jersey or elsewhere won't erase enormous obstacles the party faces heading into a 2010 midterm election year when control of Congress and statehouses from coast to coast will be up for grabs.

It's been a tough few years for the GOP. The party lost control of Congress in 2006 and then lost the White House in 2008 with three traditional Republican states — Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia — abandoning the party.

So even if political winds start blowing harder behind them and even if they can capitalize on Democratic missteps, Republicans still will have a long way to go over the next year because of their party's own fundamental problems — divisions over the path forward, the lack of a national leader and a shrinking base in a changing nation.

Are you kidding me Fox News? This headline is yet another example of your ridiculous, inaccurate reporting. Did you even read the article? No where in the article does it say "GOP victory Tuesday won't erase party's problems" - the closest it gets is "[The New York race] highlighted fissures in the Republican Party between conservatives and moderates, illustrating problems the GOP could have in capitalizing on any discontent with Obama and Democrats that Tuesday's results may show." No reasonable person could argue with that statement.

I love how Fox is the one calling out the AP as "spinners" when I feel sometimes its the other way around. Its like talking to a teenager and you ask them why are they getting defensive and then they say why are YOU getting defensive. AP: Fox why are you spinning the truth. Fox: AP why are YOU guys spinning the truth. C'mon people, can't we see through this.

Undoubtedly, we still have problems to solve - that's a given. When we end up with RINOs on a congressional ballot because our own representatives have no clue what a true Republican looks like or votes like, that's a problem. But we're fixing our problems. Seat by seat, state by state - and winning the governor's race in Obama's new back yard, as well as a hard core liberal state like New Jersey CERTAINLY WAS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. So lick your wounds, liberals, and figure out what YOU'RE doing wrong, and what YOU NEED TO DO TO CORRECT IT. I'll give you a hint - stop spending other people's money.

Since I for one, rarely know what the propaganda liberal media is saying, except for reading it here on Fox Nation, I would expect them to marginize the win and spin it into never even happening, LOL.

"The teabaggers are turning to threats and intimidation out there in NY-23 land" and cited this article from Elizabeth Benjamin in the NY Daily News: "It's getting ugly out there. I just got off the phone with former state Democratic Chairwoman June O'Neill, who informed me the police had been called to at least two polling sites in St. Lawrence County due to overzealous electioneering (O'Neill called it "voter intimidation") by Doug Hoffman supporters."

The only problem the GOP has, is that the conservatives do not support their flimsy RINO's. The media and Obama want to say there is no room for moderates, well define moderate- I, personally don't have a problem with a candidate that is slightly less right, however the Dems definition of a GOP moderate is one that acts like ( and votes like) a democrat.
